| I purchased these sandwich wrapper mats for my 3 kids who take lunch to school daily. We have 5 total wrap-n-mats, 1 for each kid, and a few extras. They are very sturdy, and the "save the earth" type theme is great for either boys or girls, young and old.I also love that because the wrap opens to a place mat, my kids aren't laying there sandwich on the school lunch table.
We have been using the mats for about 2 months. So far they are holding up perfectly. I wash the inside liner off after each use with a damp wash rag, then air dry. At the end of each week, I wash them in a sink of dish soap and water, then I hang them to drip dry. They are dishwasher safe, but handwashing them is so fast and easy, plus I hope it will help them last longer. ... more |

| We purchased a set several years ago and wore them out after daily use. (My husband used to leave egg shells in it and I think it must have cut the plastic. This time we'll avoid the egg shells and will hope for a longer life for them.) I bring my sandwich in one to work everyday and love that it both carries my sandwich and then I can use it as a placemat. I highly recommend these. ... more |

| These are one of those things that you learn about and say "why didn't I think of that?" I have had these mats for a few years now, I wipe the mats down every night and on Friday night I put them in the wash, I air dry them. I have learned that after I close the velcro that two cookies can be shoved under the flap on each side of the velcro. My significant other is a computer guy and he puts the two wrap a mats into his briefcase and off he goes every morning. He loves the fact that he can eat at his computer with the mat as his place mat. They have held up beautifully. ... more |

Dimensions
Folded: 5" W x 6" H (varies depending what's inside)
Open: 12" W x 12.5" H
Design & Functionality
Simply fold around sandwiches, veggie sticks, cookies and other goodies, fold the cotton wrapper closed, secure with the Velcro® closure, and food stays put. To top it off, these smart reusable sandwich wrappers unfold into placemats! The FDA-approved, food-grade lining easily wipes clean after every use and is certified by the manufacturer to be totally BPA, phthalate and lead-free. (Still concerned about plastic? A great customer suggestion is to wrap sandwiches with biodegradable wax paper inside the Wrap-N-Mat.) They're durable and will give you hundreds and hundreds of reuses.
Materials
Outer shell is made of cotton/polyester. Lining of green and blue wraps is made of PEVA (polyethylene vinyl acetate). Lining of eco-print and red check wraps is made of LDPE (#4) plastic. All wraps are manufactured to meet all FDA guidelines to be in contact with food. Wrap-N-Mats are 100% BPA, phthalate and lead-free. LDPD differs from PEVA in a few ways. First, it's not sticky- some people prefer the LDPE for this reason, whereas others like the PEVA because it clings to itself like plastic wrap. LDPE also has hash marks, sometimes mistaken for scratches. This marking develops in the final step of manufacture, but it's only superficial. LDPE is very strong and should not tear with regular use.
Please note:We are aware that the LDPE material appears to have hash marks in the lining. These markings are not cuts nor defects in any way and will NOT lessen the durability of the wrap.
Sustainability
When used in place of disposable plastic baggies, each Wrap-N-Mat has the potential to eliminate 1000s of plastic bags over its lifetime, saving you money at the same time. As part of a waste-free lunch kit, these reusable wraps can ultimately help you consume less over time.
About Wrap-N-Mat
As a mother of four, Wrap-N-Mat's President realized there had to be a “green alternative” to the plastic sandwich bag. Responsibly made in China, with Fair Labor and Fair Trade practices.
Although not required, Wrap-N-Mat, Inc. independently tests all wraps and all meet the new Consumer Product Safety Act (CPSA) requirements against lead and phthalates. Wrap-N-Mat believes in providing a safe product that meets all governmental standards.
Care Instructions
Hand wash in warm water and air dry. Not recommended for use with hot items. Do not heat or use in the microwave.

- Wrap-N-Mats are made to last, but after a few years you may need to replace yours. But don't throw out your worn out, ripped or cracked Wrap-N-Mats! Instead, tear out the liner and use the cloth to wrap up non-food items like crayons or small toys for traveling with kids.

I think these are great, but after a few weeks of regular use they started to retain food odors (even though we hand washed them and let them air dry, as the directions said). This weekend, I put them through the "hand wash" cycle in our washer with some other things, which finally got rid of the odor. I wanted to pass the tip along!

I love the theory of wrap-n-mats

I love the theory of wrap-n-mats. My dislike is that they are flimsy and unattractive. In a sandwich utopia, these would be made out a single, thick material, like Lunchskins, instead of a a plastic-lined cloth that is attached at the ends and can fray and rip. The cloth and construction are not high quality. That said, I love the design of the product. I know I will have to replace these much sooner than other products, but they work as described.

I have used Wrap-n-Mats for some time and appreciate them enough that I've ordered them again, this time for Christmas gifts for my family. I ordered them in the recycle print because I wanted to also make a statement as to how I feel about our environment.

I get compliments on it all the time!

I take my lunch to grad school each day and usually make a sandwich. The sandwiches fit perfectly—and even when I use outsized bread, I find that the Wrap-N-Mat® is still a great choice. It actually fits more than a traditional ziplock bag.
My only complaint is that the velcro is often in the wrong place: it's either too short or too long. I often use a rubber band to keep it closed (or just leave it loose).
I also use it to carry cookies for lunch.

These mats are fantastic. I bought them for the lunches of my 5-year-old son and my husband. Both boys like them. My husband eats a full sandwich but my son only eats a half, and the mat accommodates either size. They can fit all the other foods from their lunch bags on the mat. They clean up quickly, but the material side must air dry, so I recommend having extras. Previously, I had used a hard plastic container for my husband's sandwich, but the soft-sided nature of these mats is helpful to me when I need to fit everything in the lunch bag. I highly recommend this product.

These sandwich bags are the BEST! I bought my first set over two years ago and since we have added to our family size I needed to buy more. The older set is still in great condition, and they are so easy to use and clean. No more plastic bags at my house!I highly recommmend them to everyone.

sandwich wrap mat -- set of 3
by Jennifer E - 03/2010
These are perfect for sandwiches, even oversized ones. They are very easy to clean by wiping down or soaking and they dry quickly. It's a great way to reduce the need for plastic sandwich bags. Also, it gives a mat for the kids to have a lunch on in case the table surface isn't clean. I highly recommend these!

I had been eyeballing these for quite some time but wasn't sure how much I'd use one. My daughter takes a sandwich (she's a creature of habit) to school every single day and this thing has been terrific. I love it, she loves it, and the lunchroom aide even coveted it. I can't believe I waited so long to buy them.

Great, except for cleaning
by April M - 03/2010
I love the concept, I've loved using these, my kindergartener, preschooler, and I use these daily. That being said, the fabric is HORRID to clean. While the plastic side wipes clean very easily with a soapy sponge, the fabric side does not come very clean. Having used them for 6 months, I now notice some mold in the seams where the fabric and plastic are sewn together.
I must add that 6 months of use certainly has saved MANY plastic baggies from the landfill, and I will certainly replace these with another reusable item as that is so important to me (and our planet!) However, I will be purchasing the kind that is plastic on BOTH sides.

the Velcro is very strong. It's about 3 times stronger than it needs to be. Really, how much does it take to keep a sandwich wrapped? Don't wear a sweater to lunch because it's an accident waiting to happen. All joking aside, good product. Have yet to test it's long term durability and have yet to wash them, however.
