"I gave a set to all my friends and we are hooked!" -- Woody Harrelson
Cut down on plastic waste with these portable, eco-friendly utensils made with 100% bamboo - a highly durable & sustainable material. Set includes flatware and chopsticks which are heat- and stain-resistant, safe to use on non-stick surfaces and won't impart or absorb flavors. Utensils are hand finished with natural, food-safe wood oil. And, because bamboo is a grass and not a wood, it is anti-microbial by nature.
The carrycase for this utensil set is hand-woven by Karen craftswomen living in refugee camps on the Thai-Burma border. They are part of WEAVE, a women's cooperative that provides education and training to displaced women. Purchases provide much-needed income for the women and their families, contributing to their advancement and empowerment, and making a positive impact on the global community. More on WEAVE below.

Cool Facts
Bamboo is an organic, beautiful & earth-friendly material known for its fast growth cycle and natural strength. Highly adaptable, bamboo can grow almost anywhere and protects the environment by generating more oxygen than other trees. While gaining popularity, bamboo is still mostly an untapped renewable natural resource.
Women’s Education for Advancement and Empowerment (WEAVE) was founded in 1990, with the intent to empower indigenous women and support their needs and basic human rights. WEAVE’s goals are to provide education and training for displaced women and children from Burma and its bordering areas. They aim to foster the development of self-managing and self-sustaining women’s organizations and community-based projects, and to raise the level of awareness of issues affecting displaced women and children from Burma and its bordering areas in partnership with women’s organizations.
WEAVE strives to create a world where empowered women and their children are free to exercise their rights and live peacefully in a just, humane and equitable society.
