Great for cold or hot food, as well as the planet. Fold down the handle to make it compact and easy to store. Perfect for work, school, picnics, concerts, travel and camp. Design & Functionality
The two levels sit securely on top of each other, with the top level acting as a lid to the second level. Includes a handy removable plate that functions as a lid for the top container. Great for hot and cold food, the levels will keep courses separate. The 2-tier style is great for those who prefer sandwiches and larger portions. Also makes a great take-out container.

These items are not guaranteed to be leak proof. We recommend putting soups and sauces in the top tier of the tiffin – the lid and double-latch system is designed to prevent against leaks. Sidekicks work best inside a food carrier to hold accompanying sauces or dressings, or outside a food carrier for dry food like nuts or fruit.

Materials
Lightweight, food-safe 14/1 grade stainless steel. Contains less nickel than other food-grade stainless steel and does not require a chemical sealant. These reusable, risk-free stainless steel containers do not impart taste and do not leach toxins into their contents. Avoid exposure to potentially harmful chemicals and BPA leaching from plastic alternatives.

one design change I would make

Great kit! reminds me of the meal containers used in the movie Papillon - I would suggest one change. I wish the upper bowl could be inverted and clamped to the lower bowl - I like to eat large salads and it would be nice to shake all the ingredients together -

We LOVE our new stainless tiffin

We LOVE our new stainless tiffin. My 4 year old son uses it for his school lunch and while some things do not fit in it (multiple individual containers with dips/spreads & fruit/veggies), most things do. My son loves mechanics and locks so this is perfect for him. I love the option of using one tier or two depending on what we have for lunch that day. It is easy to clean and certainly stands out from the crowd.

I like this product's design, even though diameter

I like this product's design, even though diameter is a little larger than I expected. However, after one week of school, one of the teirs already has a crack near the rim. This item was on the pricey side, I am surprised it hasn't lasted. Defective, perhaps?

Well suited for a soup and a sandwich type lunch. Good quality hinges and locks. Wish the lower tier was use-able on its own. Recently dropped the top tier from about five feet on to tile - nary a one was damaged.

I am loving this product!

I am loving this product! I have been handwashing it since I use it every day, but it's great. If I eat breakfast at home, I can bring just one tier to work. It fits a great amount of food too- it fits a great size lunch and breakfast or snack.

This is a great lunch kit

This is a great lunch kit. It is fun to carry and functions well. Other people have mentioned that it is a conversation starter, but I was still surprised by how many people notice and admire it! It really gets people thinking about the environmental impact of their own lunch. Remember to pack you cloth napkin. :) In terms of function, I have had no trouble opening and closing this tiffin, and it passed the magnet test. I have found that it works best to put the main course (burrito, sandwich, etc.) in the top compartment, as the lid for the top is also the plate. Did you notice that they designed this so that the top can go solo if needed? How clever! Also, I have found that it doesn't work too well to put an apple and corn chips together in one compartment, as the corn chips taste like the apple by noon. I think the 3-Tier option might have worked better for me, as I like to take a few different things. I think I'll order it next!

I thought the stainless steel containers would be

I thought the stainless steel containers would be a little smaller. That is my problem, not yours. I had seen a similar product that was smaller in diameter, but had 3 tiers instead of 2. I should have paid more attention to the size. Otherwise, I am happy with the quality, construction etc. I have had many comments when I use it in restaurants.

I bought this to fit inside the Fugu lunch tote -

I bought this to fit inside the Fugu lunch tote - it does fit, but just barely, and it's difficult to zip up. Because of this, I am probably going to buy smaller stainless steel containers to use for the tote. By itself, this is a very cool product - I wish both containers had a top so you could seal them separately, but you can seal the top one by itself and that should be fine.
