I love the idea of this cup and really hoped that

I love the idea of this cup and really hoped that it would be all I expected from a sippy cup. Like other reviewers I at first had trouble with leaking until I learned how to very tightly install the top parts. However, just like the Sigg water bottles, the top part of this sippy cup is made of a rubber (perhaps silicone) that is a rough surface. The inside of the top, after a few weeks of carrying juice in the cup, became molded. I scrubbed and scrubbed eventually resorting to bleach, but because the material has a rough edge, I could not get rid of the mold or debris that accumulated on the inside of the top. I have found this also happens in the top of a sigg water bottle if something other than water is stored in it. If it were only to be used for water, I would highly recommend this as a sippy cup. As for a juice sippy cup that doesn't leak and can be completely cleaned, I am still searching.

I was pleased to find this cup at a closeout price. We've been satisfied with the ones we had paid full price for. I like the version without handles better as lining it up isn't an issue. Product doesn't leak if everything is put together firmly. Have only put water in it so cannot report about issues with any other liquid.

Good but not the best on the market
by Sally M - 12/2009
The Foogo sippy cup certainly maintains liquid temperature for a few hours and is pretty sturdy for toddlers, but I had several issues with it compared with alternatives: 1. There's no cover so the spout is vulnerable to toddler-style treatment. 2. The spout is difficult to clean- if you leave milk in it for over a day (oops, but it can happen) the smell is retained 3.It doesn't go in the dishwasher- I tried this (I know, the instructions said not to) and the plastic bottom came away from the metal-some sippy cups are dw proof so if you're looking for convenience, try a different one. 4. It whistles, making it not ideal for overnight use. We also have the Foogo straw-version cup and with the flip-top lid it's a much better choice for us. Likewise, we use the Foogo insulated container and that rocks. Again though, don't experiment with putting them in the dishwasher like I did!

PRO: Very sturdy, keeps drinks cool
by Stephanie M - 06/2009
PRO: Very sturdy, keeps drinks cool.
CONS:
If you use it for anything but water, it gets moldy and smells (and the mold does NOT scrub off the rubber parts!). My kid drinks watered down juice, or milk. Plain water is fine, but this makes the cup unusable much of the time for me.
Holds very little.
Rather heavy for something that holds a small amount. Get the kind with handles, if you get it.

I do not recommend this cup
by Kimberly C - 05/2009
I do not recommend this cup. Even when I assemble the parts very carefully, it sometimes leaks. It's just annoying. Get your toddler a SIGG bottle instead.

I love this sippy cup! I bought two of them so I would have a spare. My baby is still learning to drink from sippy cups, but with this one there really is no mess. It's easy to clean and sturdy (it has already been dropped several times). I would definitely recommend this cup to other parents.

I normally don't review products, but I just wante
by Aana K - 03/2009
I normally don't review products, but I just wanted to say how terrible I think this sippy is. I was all excited to use this to keep milk cold but after 2 weeks I discovered that this sippy is only good for water. If you put milk in it, somehow it gets inside the cup through that little ring at the top and spoils and stinks so bad. And you cannot get the funk out at all. Also, I didn't know the yellow part at the top came off which resuled in even more funk when it went uncleaned for that time period. That was my fault since it explains it in the directions. But the directions should say something about not putting any liquid that can spoil in the cup.

Too heavy for a toddler to use - especially given

Too heavy for a toddler to use - especially given how little liquid it contains. Comes in a lot of plastic packaging.

I purchased 2 of these cups about 5 months ago
by Heather T - 03/2009
I purchased 2 of these cups about 5 months ago. While they were $17 a piece, very expensive to me, I felt they would be worth it. I read the instructions for cleaning, which said to take apart the entire cup every time you clean it. I did that, or so I thought. Last week I discovered the yellow top cam apart from the blue top. When I took it part, I discovered permanent mold!!! I scrubbed, scratched, washed, soaked in vinegar, and it will not come off. Now I am having to throw away $30 worth of sippy cups, after only using them for 5 short months. I contacted customer service and was told I didn't clean it properly. So, be prepared to take apart the entire cup every time you wash it, or better yet, don't buy it at all!

This is a very nice product
by Kristin B - 12/2008
This is a very nice product... My 2-year-old daughter loves it. I have a few minor complaints about it: The top/mouthpiece involves four different pieces, and I'm concerned I will lose the crucial silicone piece while washing it. I don't dare put the two clear mouthpiece parts in the dishwasher because I think they'll get lost, so it's an extra task to take them apart and wash separately. I wouldn't wash them over an open sink drain in case you drop one or both pieces. The rest of the mouthpiece and body of the Foogo are easy to wash because they're easy to hold and scrub.
The Foogo doesn't hold that much liquid. It might be an adequate amount for a baby, but my toddler drains it very quickly. For that reason it's not ideal for taking on toddler outings -- keep it at home where you can refill it easily. For outings, we use the small Kleen Kanteen with an insulated sleeve.

I was very excited about the concept of this sippy
by Irene H - 12/2008
I was very excited about the concept of this sippy cup, however we encountered 3 problems. It leaked, not through the threading, but through the air hole. It also smelled really bad after a few weeks of usage. I've tried soaking it in vinegar, but the smell is still there. I'm sure putting it into the dishwasher would help, but I don't want to get any soap into the gaps, which could leach into the liquid. The last problem is the drinking spout doesn't hold up for toddler use, especially while they are teething. Ours has cracked in multiple places.

Love this cup. It is easy for my 2 year old to use just like a plastic sippy cup but safer. I would make the spout insert easier to line up. If it is not lined up correctly it will leak. However if you get the hang of it it will not leak much. (It has the same performance as a plastic sippy but it keeps her milk cold.)

Love them. I too had a problem with leakage after the first time I took it apart, but I figured out what I did wrong and that was the end of that problem. Yes there are a lot of parts to put back together, but if you do it right it won't leak. Make sure you pull the spout from the top to seal it in place. These also do NOT sweat! Which Kleen Kanteen does (and leak too!). They keep all beverages nice and cold. Since the bottom is rubber, you don't have as many dents as with the Kleen Kanteen. Try these - they work great!

by Rebecca K - 11/2008
At first this cup was great but after a couple of weeks like others mine began to leak so much I can't use it anymore unless our son is wearing his scoop bottom bib. No matter how hard I try I can't seem to get the blue and yellow piece together right so it doesn't leak. I wish it worked... I love the idea!

This cup is for a baby gift. My daughter has one for her son and is very happy with it so I thought if one's good, two's better!
