SIGG designed this stylish oval bottle for the Swiss Army in 1941. Made from high-grade stainless steel, its sleek shape slides easily into bags & purses. Materials
Made from high-grade stainless steel. These reusable, risk-free stainless steel containers do not impart taste and do not leach toxins into their contents. Plastics (polycarbonate) have been shown to leach carcinogens including BPA during regular use, exposure to heat and especially after cleaning. From manufacturing, to use and disposal, plastics pollute our health and environment. About 20% lighter weight than a comparable sized Lexan plastic bottle, SIGG’s are incredibly durable, virtually unbreakable.     Care Instructions
    Rinsing your SIGG thoroughly under the faucet with warm, soapy water at the end of every day and letting it air dry with the top off provides sufficient cleaning in most cases. When more thorough cleaning is required, you can use baking soda and vinegar. For tough jobs, pick up some SIGG cleaning tablets and a SIGG brush. Do not use a hard bristled brush to clean the interior of your SIGG bottle as this may damage the liner.

    My husband and I have switched over to stainless steel bottles and we have several of the Klean Kanteens. I chose these Sigg flasks because they are stainless steel, not lined aluminum, and I thought that the shape might work better for everyday. I found these flasks a great size and shape to carry in my purse. On our first use at the park, strangers would stop to ask where we got them. Keep in mind that they are flasks and have smaller necks than other stainless steel bottles. This means that cleaning them requires a bottle brush. All in all I think the size and shape make them easier to carry than the standard stainless steel bottles.

    i have ordered a number of sigg bottles over the past nine months, and i appreciated that the bottles were made in switzerland. i just reordered a few and was dissapointed to see that they now say "designed in switzerland, made in china". i really don't care where they are designed so long as they are made in china. sad really, a company with a long tradition (1908) buckling to the cheap labor and shoddy quality of chinese products. i am sure that the people at "thomas the tank engine" and "dora the explorer" (both manufactured and recalled from china) felt they were being "reponsibly manufactured" there as well. no longer a fan. and it is too bad, good product.

    I am happy with the Travel flask that i ordered. I had throat cancer a while ago and need to sip water often and the bigger round water bottles don't fit in my pockets very well. It cools real quick in the refrigerator, and i carry it all the time, a smaller version would suit me better but mine is a special case.

    This is a beautiful bottle

    This is a beautiful bottle. It is a bit heavy, heavier than the larger round bottles, but it holds plenty of water. The major reason I would think about getting another bottle is... people think I'm drinking whiskey! Of course if I were, I wouldn't put it in something that looked like a whiskey flask- but no one cares about that. I've had classmates and strangers at the bus stop suspect that I'm drinking something stronger than water. It is a gorgeous bottle, though, and fits well into bags.

    I received my red & black oval bottle

    I received my red & black oval bottle. But it looks different comparing the product picture. They are standard oval (same as http://www.sigg.ch/en/html/city.htm#, Oval Bottle - Red|0.6l|8127.70, aluminum-based), which has a smooth shape, don't has the sharp edges as the product picture showed, and possibly is aluminum-made? Also I see the dark inner coating inside the bottle. So my question is why the real delivered bottles has difference look (smooth shape and don't have the sharp edges)? Although has the different shape, is it still made from stainless steel? I'm quite confused.

    My order arrived promptly, and the SIGG flask is a daily essential for me. I have a few SIGG bottles, but for city life (walking around with a bag of stuff all day), I find this one works best. I am also a nutritionist and I give these out to my clients. Highly recommended.

    Nice size and color

    Nice size and color. The lids are not quite as convenient as the Nalgene bottle lids. I switched from Nalgene because of the potential leaching of the plastic bottles, yet we've already dented our flask whereas the Nalgene could take a beating.

    I received my bottle a couple of weeks ago and have used it everyday. I am one of those people who always have a bottle of water with me, so you can just imagine how many plastic bottles I had been going through. One of the nice things about the bottle is that it keeps the water cold. Yes, I do get funny looks from my friends when I pull a flask out of my purse, but I don't care because then I get the opportunity to give my little environmental speech.

    not much heavier than the aluminum siggs and the flatter shape fits into bags easier. i feel better putting hot water into the stainless steel body and i don't have to worry about the stability of or scratching the epoxy lining of the aluminum siggs (which i also use and love) . the deep blue one i got is gorgeous.

    The bottle is very well made considering that it's made in China (I wish the site stated that because I was under the impression that all SIGG products were made in Switzerland). The bottle fits better in my backpack because of the shape. There's no metal taste in my water. Excellent service. My bottle came in 2 days and I also noticed that the postage cost more than what I was charged for shipping and handling so it's like getting a discount.
