Design and Functionality
Made of certified organic cotton, these net sacks are larger than standard plastic produce bags found in most grocery stores. Unlike those plastic bags, these sacks can be reused indefinitely. Take them with you to the grocery store or farmer’s market for your fruit and vegetable purchases for another way to say no to plastic. When used with our produce savers you can save money as you help the environment by dramatically increasing the shelf life of your fruits and vegetables. With a drawstring and tight weave, these sacks stretch to hold a variety of things. Not just for produce – these are ideal for other bulk food products, and also make great gift bags, lunch sacks, or lightweight travel bags.

Helpful Hint

While the Organic Cotton Net Produce Bags are lightweight, be aware that sometimes the bags will add to the net weight of a purchase if produce is left in the bag during check out. Produce scales in the store may be adjusted to only accommodate for plastic bag tare weight -- the Organic Cotton Net Produce Bags are slightly heavier.

Care Instructions
Machine wash cold, drip dry. Store in a cool, dry place. These are natural fibers and mold can grow if they're not stored properly.

    I purchased both large and small produce bags and I absolutely love them! They are just the right size and are very durable. I was afraid the that the checkers at the registers would have a hard time seeing the produce in the bags, but it has not been a problem. I have recommended buying these bags to all my friends!

    These are a winner! Once we learned about the mostly plastic garbage heap the size of 2 states of Texas in the Pacific Ocean, we set a goal of plastic-free house...at least as far as bags and unneccessary containers. Produce bags were the hardest to give up, but, thanks to these see-through mesh bags, we are almost there.

    These cotton net bags are great. Obviously, they are great for reducing the waste and pollution of throw away plastic produce bags at the market. Then, of course, there is the \"cool\" factor when I whip them out at the store, not to mention the great feeling of moral superiority they give you. ;) I have also found many other uses for them, such as simplifying my travel by keeping various pieces of clothing secure in my bag and organized in hotel drawers. Also, tossing a few pairs of socks in a bag and laundering as a group means no lost socks!

    These confuse the checkers at my grocery store a bit, but to me it's worth the effort they make to see what's in the bag. I hate those plastic produce bags! My husband is reluctant to use them because he feels they add more weight on the grocery scale. He tries to sneak plastic bagged items into the cart. Maybe a bit looser weave would make it more pleasing to the checkers and my man! Overall, they are worth the price.

    Once again, the quality is fantastic! The also hold a lot, though they shrink up quite a bit in the wash...the venders at the farmer's market have been very impressed, at the tiny ethnic grocery they're a little more mystified. My only complaint is that it's difficult/impossible to tell what's inside them, the netting isn't very see-through.

    I love these little suckers! They're great for storage as well as shopping. I live in a smart, but rather "non-green," small town. Belive it or not for two years I was the ONLY shopper to use my own totes in the local stores. However, I was happy to endure stares and flustered baggers in hopes of planting the seed. It's working! So stand up, be brave and set an example. Flaunt those reusable bags!

    I like the feel of the bags and their ease of use. I appreciate being able to eliminate the plastic bags at the co-op and other natural food stores. I even take them to the farmers' markets! I have washed them twice following the instructions explicitly and they have shrunk about 40%. That has been the only disappointment.

    Exactly what I wanted! Bags are light, durable, and transparent. I've had no complaints from cashiers. Unless you buy very large quantities, go with the smaller versions, they are plenty.

    I purchased both sizes of the cotton muslin and the cotton string bags. They both work for all produce and storage for uncut produce. I am thrilled at the prospect of not using plastic bags and the ease of the natural fiber bags.
