    About Mimi the Sardine
    Mimi the Sardine was started by Pia Andersson in the late 80s. After designing and producing children's clothing for several major mail order companies including Hanna Andersson and Garnet Hill, the company now specializes in functional products made from eco-coated cotton fabrics directly imported from Sweden.

    All of Mimi the Sardine items are manufactured locally in the San Francisco Bay Area. They take great pride in "made-to-last" quality, produced in accordance with strict environmental laws.

    Care Instructions
    Machine wash, air dry. For smaller spills, just wipe clean with a damp cloth.

    I have had this bag for under a year, and used it

    I have had this bag for under a year, and used it to tote stuff back and forth to work. I like that you can wipe it down to clean it, and the stylish pattern got many compliments. However when I received it I was concerned the handles did not seem strong enough, or well attached. Sure enough last week one side of the handle ripped out of the bag. I can probably mend it- but for $45 I wish it had been better constructed with strong and sturdy handles. As an eco-friendly, reusable bag- it should last longer than a few months.
