Design & functionality
Klean Kanteen is a reusable, risk-free stainless steel container that does not leach toxins into its contents. Reusable, lightweight & durable. The wide-mouth accommodates ice cubes and makes cleaning easy.

The Klean Kanteen Stainless Steel Sippy Cup includes a 12 oz stainless steel bottle, a sippy adapter and two Avent sippy spouts. Simply screw the adapter and spout into the top of the bottle and you have a safe, non-leaching alternative to the traditional plastic sippy cup. Also consider adding a protective colorful bottle sleeve to insulate the bottle and help kid-proof it from the occasional drop and ding!


Materials
Made from electropolished, non-leaching, high grade 304 L.N. (18/8) stainless steel. Klean Kanteen’s 304 L.N. stainless steel is grade blended specifically for food preparation, dairy, brewing, various medical uses and other applications where mineral migration is unacceptable. The steel is put through a electropolishing process which seals the surface and prevents minerals from migrating into the contents. These reusable, risk-free stainless steel containers do not impart taste and do not leach toxins into their contents. Plastics (polycarbonate) have been shown to leach carcinogens including BPA during regular use, exposure to heat and especially after cleaning. From manufacturing, to use and disposal, plastics pollute our health and environment.

Sustainability
100% recyclable. Reusing durable Klean Kanteen bottles ultimately helps you consume less over time. Furthermore, 304 (or 18/8) stainless steel is a sustainable material, having a long service life, usability in a number of applications and is environmentally friendly. Stainless steel needs less maintenance and its hygienic qualities means that we do not have to use harsh cleaners to get a clean surface.

About Klean Kanteen
Klean Kanteen, a family-owned company in Chico, CA, was the first to create a stainless steel beverage container to curb the use of the one-time use water bottle and in response to credible reports about chemicals in common plastic drinking and food containers. Since 2004, Klean Kanteen has been informing the public about the health and environmental hazards of eating and drinking from plastic containers at consumer and trade shows such as Green Festivals, Outdoor Retailer Market, Natural Products Expo West and East, Interbike Expo, Whole Children Whole Planet and many others.

Klean Kanteen visits their manufacturing facilities 4-5 times per year and perform audits every six months to ensure all of theirr products are produced with respect for the environment and fair labor standards, including: the ethical treatment of factory workers, child labor, wages/benefits, health and safety, etc. Additionally, they do regular lab testing on random shipments through a local lab in the U.S. to ensure their products are made per their specifications, are free of hazardous substances such as lead, and do not leach chromium, manganese, etc.

Care Instructions
Klean Kanteens are dishwasher safe (washing caps in the dishwasher is not recommended because water can squeeze itself into the cap) or easy to clean with a bottle brush and mild soap. We recommend an old fashioned cleaner: white vinegar and baking soda. Stainless steel does not rust. If your bottle appears to have rusted, it is a harmless residue left behind from the electro-polishing process. Electro charges remove fine particles from the stainless steel surface, remove impurities and seal it. Electrolytes left behind sometimes turn a rust color, but it's harmless.

    Unfortunately this does on occasion leak through the pressure vent opposite the spout. Also, for the price, it really should come with a plastic cap to keep the spout from getting dirty. The construction is great. The sippy cup is best for water and not milk (since it can leak and make a mess).

    I'm not quite sure why other reviewer are giving this cup anything less than 5 stars! I have the 27oz bottle and LOVE it. My two year old is always drinking out of it, so I decided he should have his own. This cup, like all the other stainless and aluminum bottles, is not insulated! It isn't a thermos. The outside does get cold to the touch when you put VERY cold water in it. We use a sleeve on both our bottles to keep our water colder longer, which alleviates any issues. Although, I have never had my bottle, or my sons, get too cold to hold. In addition, the cup comes with an insert specifically stating it is not for use with warm or hot fluids. Common sense tells us the outside of the bottle would get warm - it will NOT get any warmer than the fluid you put in, however. Unlike another reviewer said (it got too hot to hold when she put warm fluid in the cup). Again, if you use a sleeve you won't have an issue. Our cup never leaks. It will dribble water out the vent if my son blows in the mouth piece. Just make sure the sippy part is in tight and you will not have any issues. It can get knocked loose if the cup is dropped or thrown. We also use the Avent bottle cap on his cup as a cover. Works great. We LOVE this cup!! It is a great cup at a great price! There is no amount of money to put on the heath of our children and our planet!

    I am generally happy with this product. I am happy to have the alternative to plastic. My only complaint is that it tends to leak when its on its side. maybe the top needs to be screwed on just right but with two little ones....ya know. but overall I am happy with it.

    I love the "Klean Kanteen" Stainless Steel cups. They work so great for my kids. My son is autistic and I am so careful as to what he is exposed to. It makes me breath a sigh a relief to know that when he is drinking he is not ingesting any toxins from plastic cups or bottles. He isn't able to drink from glass for safety reasons. The Stainless Steel cup is so durable and safe. It is great to be able to have a container that provides safe drinking. I use the larger Kleen Kanteen cups myself :)

    My toddler loves these sippy cups

    My toddler loves these sippy cups. They're durable, easy to use, and I feel good about them being BPA-free. We get occasional dribbles, but the leakage is minor. I also like the fact that we'll be able to use the same bottles with the sports top when the time comes. We use them with the Built sleeve. The sleeve keeps liquids cool throughout the day and protects the bottle from dings. My son can easily carry his bottle by the handle and the fun green sleeve lets him recognize his sippy cup from the other Klean Kanteens in our playgroup.

    My 11 month old loves his Klean Kanteen so much I had to get another one so I'm not washing so much! I wasn't sure that he would be able to handle it on his own as he's never really had much interest in holding his own bottle/sippy before, but he took to this one right away! I will be ordering a sleeve for it so it's not as cold in his little hands, though.

    I bought two of these for my ten month old and his one year old friend. They both took to them right away, my son especially likes the mouthpiece it comes with. I feel so much better giving him this instead of a plastic bottle. It does leak a little upside down, but this is not a major issue. Looking forward to years of use!

    My kids loved their new Stainless Steel Sippy Cups. We also bought the insulated sleeves for them, one in pink and one in blue so they can easily tell which is theirs. They love the handles on the sleeves that make them easy to carry around, (easy for me too, when I have to grab both at once.) The sippy tops, made by Avent, are a great addition, but beware that they are not leak proof. Water is not such a big deal, but if you put milk or juice in them and they leak, it get's all over everything, including the sleeves. The Avent baby bottle caps do fit on these tops though, so that has helped keep the leaking at bay. The bottles themselves are fabulous! They clean very easily with a bottle brush and you can feel good knowing that they are really clean and are non-leaching and since the FDA has just recently reconsidered there findings on the BPA leaching and is going to redo their research, I think it's better to be safe and use the stainless steel for now. Overall, I am happy with this product and would recommend it as an alternative to a plastic sippy cup.

    Klean Kanteen's sippy cup's appearance and finish is very good. Our son loves it. It cleans very well. Only complaint I have is that the top black adapter is easily breakable. My son dropped the cup once from his high chair and the adapter cracked and the cup was not usable. I think it was already defective when it arrived. Reusablebags.com customer service is very good. We called them and explained. They sent the replacement right away. Now we are very cautious of the cup and try not to give it to our son when he is sitting on high chair. Overall very satisfied with the cup.
