So the reason I purchased this product in the first place was to use it as a "camping bottle". I wanted a stainless steel bottle with a large capacity that I could use on my short over night camp trips.
This bottle is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love this product. Not only does it fill me needs but it is a top quality product and ata great price from this website.
In my backpacking adventures I know longer have to carry a second container for cooking... just remove the lid and set the bottle in the campfire and boil water right in it. And the quality of the product is FAR above what I expected.
If your even remotely on the fence about buying one...DONT BE!!!! Buy one its well worth it.

Glue on inside rim. rubs off with a little work.. NOT COOL?? Made In china... I retuned mine . Buy swiss made. China is NOT eco freindly products, NOR labor friendly.. I would not recomend this bottle if you care what goes in your body, or who makes your product.. AVOID!!!!

This is the second review I've written of these bottles. The first was just after I received them and was a total rave. I still like them but have run into a couple of problems, both of which I suspect were caused by filling them with carbonated beverages. The bottoms of two of my 3 bottles have distended, so that the bottles wobble around rather than sitting flat. And one of those has apparently warped around the top also, because it leaks copiously from the top (and yes, I have tried several different lids with it). Although I love that these bottles are non-leaching stainless steel, I'm not very happy that they've proven so incompatible with carbonated beverages. I thought I had a very green system putting my home-carbonated water in reusable bottles rather than buying bottled carbonated beverages. I guess I'll just use these til they die and then hope that some alternative works. I'm currently checking out Camelbak's new non-BPA plastic bottle. Have others had this issue?

I did not like this bottle at all - I put cold water with ice in it and brought it to work with me, and before I knew it my desk was flooded from the condensation on the bottle.

Ordered the 32 oz. stainless steel after several forums that I'm on recommended it. Then I saw a YouTube video where it was put to the test. This container is everything it is said to be and more. I can't recommned it highly enough. The only thing I would add is to get a good carrier for it and preferably one that is insulated. Top shelf product.

How hard is it to make a wide mouth SS bottle that ice fits into at the top and taper it on the bottom so it fits into an auto cup holder.

Same size as Nalgene liter
by Tom M - 11/2009
Overall this bottle seems just like what I was looking for, a large capacity metal bottle that wouldn't leach anything into my water. But I will note that the 38 oz listed capacity confused me; I was expecting it to hold more than my old lexan Nalgene liter bottles, but in fact it holds just about the same amount of liquid. The old Nalgenes hold more than the listed capacity, while this has to be filled almost to the brim to get the listed capacity.
I did find that the second time I used it it started leaking water on my car seat. The design of the screw top doesn't have any knurls, which makes it hard to tighten well. It seems to require a bit more tightening due to the small metal lip at the top. But I think with practice I'm going to be able to keep it leak free.
The best thing is that my MSR waterworks pump designed for the Nalgenes screws on to the top of this bottle with a tight seal.

This is a great bottle. I like it even better than my 40oz Klean Kanteen Wide, as it is compatible with the Guyot SplashGuard and Guyot TapGuard, which the Klean Kanteen is not. It is also much more stable than the KK Wide on less than flat surfaces, so no tip over accidents with the Guyot.
It is not as stylish as a KK Wide. Instead it favors are a more purposeful and industrial sort of look. More like camping gear and less like a fashion statement.
The cap on the Guyot is top notch, although I personally prefer to use a Human capCAP.

I have used multiple water bottles in the past
by cierra d - 08/2009
I have used multiple water bottles in the past. This is the first one that I actually like. I like this water bottle so much I am buying a second one and this is why: ice cubes drop right in, it’s easy to carry although I'm clumsy so I drop it all the time and still no damage has been done to it, easy to clean, it does not leak, and best of all the cap is attached. Overall this is the best water bottle for those who do not want to use plastic.

Perfect alternative to plastic!
by Amy G - 08/2009
Perfect alternative to plastic!!! It does sweat but I'm sure I could find a sleeve for it if I looked around. Heavy duty and well made. The drinking insert is a must :0)

We love our new stainless steel bottles
by Travis M - 03/2009
We love our new stainless steel bottles. They're great bottles for storing water in the fridge. Water tastes so much better coming out of them. We're recycling our Nalgene plastic bottles.

I like this product. But, would like to be able to remove the cap on top entirely without the cord.

by Jeremiah F - 03/2009
I bought this because I have a nalgene bottle which gave me some funky water. I really enjoy this bottle, the water I put in it always tastes fresh (not plastickyor metallic). I also put my shakes in this too, the wide mouth makes it easy to put my scoop all the way in to drop the powder. I put it in the dishwasher once a week, generally I clean it with a long neck wooden spoon and a paper towel. My bottle doesn't use an allen wrench to tighten the strap connecting the bottle to the cap, its all done by tension. This bottle is not heavy either. I'm not sure why people are calling it heavy. Then again I don't live a sedentary lifestyle. I didn't notice a weight difference between this bottle being full of water and my old nalgene (polycarbonate style) being full of water (~2.2 lbs of water in each bottle when full).

Great bottle. A heavy versitile widemouth that I long awaited for. It was for my wife who is tired of the stains that plastic gets from the tea she is always drinking. A well built metal bottle overall - we will see how dent proof it is later when it travels down lifes path some more. I like the slip cord too that allows you to take lid from bottle without any superhuman strength. It is a wonderfull product FROM CHINA! CHINA has always been good with steelwork & our homeland should work as hard NOT to build a throw away product. The only way to improve this product would be to have a Stainless lid. While we bought the splashguard to go with it, it is a bit "hinky." By this, when you screw the lid on tight enough that it does not leak, the lid flange pushes the splashguard down in the neck of the bottle just enough that if you uncap and take a sloshing drink you are apt to get dowsed with your favorite beverage. So I will probably regift the spalsh guard. Overall great, and I am always happy to buy well built, resposibly manufactued products from other lands when the USA is to lazy to build them.
Cheers - TYLER C. GRIMES
