I purchased two of the large Built lunch bags for my kids (4 & 7). The plastic lining of the regular kid lunch bags they have out shredded before teh school year was out (A thermos brand did better, but still the lining was tearing). THis made cleaning them harder since water would get in between the lining and the "insulation". I felt I'd wasted about $30 on these lunch bags that wouldn't make it through another school year. This is why I checked out the Built bags. While more expensive than the cheap-o bags you can get for kids at Target, I think these will last much longer. THey also stretch to allow for odd shaped containers. I put one ice pack at the bottom of the bag in the morning (8am) & the pack, while not rock hard, is still cold (6pm). Impressive. I went with solid colors because they were less expensive. The zipper seems very sturdy as does the stitching. I'm hoping these bags will last much longer & I won't be putting them in a landfill in a year! I recommend them! My only complaint is the color matching of the Red version-- it's green inside. Blech! Couldn't htey have picked another color? To me Red & Green = Christmas & so not what I'd want in a lunchbag. Outside of the bad color pairing, LOVE these bags! :)

The reusable neoprene lunch bags are fine but, my husband and 15 year old son don't appreciate them very much because of the style. Both said they looked like a purse but have chosen to use them anyway. Today, my son was told by a friend that his lunch bag looks like a purse.
Given the price of them, I'm not really intersted in stuffing them in a closet and getting something that looks more rugged/masculine.
My daughter and I are very happy. Can we still return these in favor of something styled for use by men?

Great space, enough for my snack yogurt, lunch sandwich, fruit and veggie to go with them as well as my freezer pack to keep things cool. Cleans easily and protects contents' temperature and safety well. The only very mild drawback is that it doesn't sit flat well. It stays where I put it, though. I'd buy it again.

I've been looking for a lunch bag that would accommodate the larger reusable water bottles - this expands to fit the different bottles that I have. It also washes well. I'm very happy.

I bought this lunch tote as a Christmas gift for my husband. We have been packing our lunches for work for years and I use a cloth lunch tote. My husband is not the type of guy to carry a "cute" lunchbox. He was using plastic shopping bags and then throwing them away when he was done eating. I decided it was time to invite him over the plastic-free side of lunch. We were both impressed with how much stuff can be packed into the Built tote; I was able to fit a salad plate inside so he could heat up his lunch. It rolls up easily to slip into our cabinets at the end of the day. My husband says he loves his new gear and I love the fact there are less plastic bags in the landfill.

This bag is the best lunch bag I have ever had. It holds a lot more than you would expect it to. Perfect size for taking my lunches to work. I get complimented on it all the time and people ask where they can get one. Love that it stretches and is easy to clean.

This is a great product, it does not hold enough containers for breakfast and lunch - which is what I usually bring to work. My only other complaint is that it does not keep items cool for very long outside of the refrigerator and without an ice pack. (I have an hour and a half commute) It is very strong! I lugged three beer bottles in the bag without it breaking or tearing the material.

Great Design, Fabric & Quality
by Barbara H - 02/2010
I got Built's Gourmet Getaway Insulated Tote Bag to use in conjunction with ToGo Ware's 2-Tier SS Food Carrier to carry small meals, to-go orders and restaurant leftovers around with more style, safety and security. Excellent choice! I really like this tote's sophisticated yet very practical design (love the handles), stretchy Neoprene fabric and insulation, and sturdy construction. The food carrier fits inside snuggly -- its flat bottom keeps the tote from falling over on flat surfaces -- and the industrial-strength zipper keeps everything inside protected (think food safety) and away from the elements. The tote/food carrier combo has those awful styrofoam containers beat on so many levels that I can't cite them all! Suffice it to say that I highly recommend it.

my favorite lunchbag EVER.
by CATHERINE W - 02/2010
These are the best lunchbags EVER. I have had one for over a year, and it still looks brand-new. Just purchased one for my boyfriend, and he really likes it, too. These bags are so sturdy, wash up beautifully, stretch around large containers, (sometimes I have to pack two meals, and these bags have enough room!), and have a little cushion just in case the bag is dropped, too. This may be the last lunchbag I ever own!
It was hard to tell on the website what color the lining was for the black bag -- it is a nice, neutral khaki. Perfect for guys!
