I purchased 5 of these bags and have been more than satisfied with them. They are tough as nails and can carry a surprising amount of groceries. My only complaint is after a year of almost invincible grocery carrying I attempted to wash one. It disintergrated. The seams tore right out. I would advise only washing with a cloth. My other 4 are still going strong.

ACME Bags™ - EarthTote™ Reusable Shopping Bag Online appearance of the bag is identical to ACME bags I purchased several years ago. Those bags are still holding. However when I received my new bags, they appear to be of lighter weight, with a less durable inner coating. The inner coating feels more like plastic and less like fabric. All I can do is wait and see if these new bags are as durable as the older bags. So for now I'm rating it right in the middle.

This is the second time I have ordered the acme shopping bags. I have found them to be very strong in carrying groceries, especially heavy cartons, bottles, or cans. They hold up much better than their paper counterpart! My only complaint this time was the odor coming from these type of bags - a "new?" smell possibly that hinted of petroleum or worse. The manufacturer should check what type of coatings it applies to the new bags so that I do not have to wash them so many times just to get that odor out. I would not order these again if I had to deal with removing that smell.

I love, love, love these bags. I have used them for holding groceries, shoes when moving, books, magazines, and, really, anything that will fit in them. I tell the clerks that the only limit to loading them is MY strength. Many clerks have commented on how clean my bags are. They say that they see many re-usable bags that are very dirty. I just throw mine in with the towels and hang to dry. I have yet to find any limit to their usefulness. Catching asteroids outside of the International Space Station maybe?

Have had 8 of these bags for about a year and been pleased with them. My only complaint is that they are not stiff enough and don't stand up as well as I would like. Just ordered 4 for gifts and there seems to be a difference in these newer bags. They are stiffer, have a coating on the inside and stand up much better than my older bags. I wish my old bags were like these. Makes me want to order more for myself but don't know if I can justify the expense since my old bags still serve their purpose and have held up so well.

These really are the best grocery bags I have used. I have been using reusable bags for several years for my shopping needs, and these are the perfect size. They stay open when you are trying to put groceries in them and hold an amazing amount of stuff.

I have been using the Earth Totes (4) for the last 3-4 years. They have held up beautifully and often the clerks comment on their quality when I check out. They are large, clean easily, and stand up for easy use. I have now purchased four more bags to give as gifts for a bridal shower and for a daughter going to grad school. I highly recommend these bags.

The bags look great as usual. My sister loved these as a gift. I did notice however, that the inner linings are not as thick and durable as they were when I ordered my own bags 2 yrs ago. The new bags are thinner and I worry that they will not hold up as well as my orginal bags.

This is one of the largest reusable bags I have seen. It is very well made and appears to be very sturdy. My husband and I fought over which one of us would keep this bag in our respective cars so I had to buy more. I did notice that the bag had a rubbery odor at first, but that went away with use. The bag holds a lot. Instead of carrying 3 to 5 awkward plastic bags, you can easily put everything in this one bag. So far, this is my favorite reusable bag for grocery shopping.

The shopping bags are stylish, lightweight, sturdy and have a nice side pocket feature. The handles could be longer so that it could go over the shoulder however.

I have used the same 2 ACME totes for 5 or 6 years now. I agree with all the positive praise, these really are excellent, well made bags. But,these bags can get heavy! I've had Rheumatoid Arthritis for 30+ years and must plead the teenaged baggers to keep them light. Next time I'll buy an ACME bag it will be about half the size of the original.

You Acme Bags are nothing short of exceptionl! The only problem is that the people that pack the bags at the grocery store must never have packed a paper bag because they don't do a good job of putting items in the bag. I have 6 of them now an constantly have to remind them there is an outte pocket on the bag for small flat items. But, I will eventually get them trained. Thanks for a superior product! Dick Fletcher

I get so many compliments on these in the grocery store, I think the only thing that they could do to improve them would to add loops at one side so the cashiers can load them better.

I read some reviews from people who purchased an older version of this bag and don't like that these are thinner. I've found this bag to be very sturdy and well made, despite its light weight. Cashiers like it too because it stands on its own. I also wanted to point out that nylon *is* plastic to the people complaining that it feels like plastic. If you're looking for natural fiber try hemp or organic cotton. If you're looking for a really strong bag that's going to last long enough to cancel its own footprint, I recommend this one.

My mother bought me some of the bags a few years ago. I loved them so much I purchased more. I get complimented on these all the time. They are so sturdy (both styles that i've tried) and easy to pack. The baggers don't believe me when I tell them to load the bags all the way up. I purchased the most recent ones for my friend. He is trying to go green, but he won't spend his own money on things like this. He used them the first week he had them and loved them. I've purchased all sorts of bags from stores and none ever live up to the sturdiness and use-ability of these bags.
